What You Do:
Located in the DC region, Adventure Theatre MTC educates and inspires new generations of theater artists and audiences with exceptional theatrical experiences.
While upholding our values of education, creativity, excellence, and nurture, our programming reaches over 40,000 patrons, students, and educators annually.
How You Do It:
Adventure Theatre MTC has a long history of inclusion, accessibility, and cultural celebration by producing popular children’s stories brought to the stage as well as over 40 new works created for Theatre for Young Audiences. Our productions allow for ASL Interpreted shows, Autism/Sensory-Friendly shows, Pay What You Can Performances, Title 1 School pricing, and assistance for our educators with curriculum that ties into the classroom learning. These productions have resulted in over 50 Helen Hayes Award nominations, National Tours and Off-Broadway Transfers to New Victory Theater, and an International Tour to Singapore/Malaysia.
ATMTC Academy graduates, highly trained in musical theater technique, include Broadway stars and actors, regional theater directors, and successful television and National Tour actors. They have not only been accepted to Top 10 Theater schools across the country, Adventure Theatre MTC Academy’s current students have been cast in over 50 professional productions in the Washington, DC area including Arena Stage, Olney Theatre, Theater J, Signature Theatre, and more. They have tirelessly worked to improve their craft resulting in receiving the music award at the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, GA for three years in a row.
Adventure Theatre MTC will be announcing its 2017-2018 professional season soon as well as expanding its extensive musical theater learning program for the Washington, DC region student performers which includes its popular Summer Musical Theater Camp, celebrating 40 years next summer.
