The Leadership Montgomery Youth Community Leadership Awards are sponsored and funded by the law firm Shulman, Rogers, Gandal, Pordy and Ecker, P.A., of Rockville.
Leadership Montgomery created the Youth Community Leadership Awards in 1997 to identify, reward and promote outstanding community service efforts and demonstrations of leadership by high school students in Montgomery County, Maryland.
About the Awards
A total of five (5) $1,000 scholarships are available to students attending a public or independent school located in Montgomery County, Maryland, who are currently enrolled in the 12th grade and has completed a minimum of 260 hours of community service learning activities by the end of the last semester of their junior year. Verification is required.

Selection Process
Award recipients are chosen by a Selection Committee. Selection is based on community service activities performed, leadership in community service described in essay, and two letters of recommendation. Grades are not a factor in the selection process.
